That Trancoso is the mandatory place to be for the rich and famous, everyone knows. The news is that now they have an exclusive new address: the hotel UXUA, with nine former fisherman’s houses in the middle of the ‘Quadrado’. The project is a dream for the Dutch Wilbert Das, creative director of the brand Diesel for now 20 years. The name of the hotel is a result of when Wilbert looked into a Pataxó’s dictionary and searched for the word ‘marvelous’. In love with the Brazilian culture, he wanted to preserve the traditional architecture. At UXUA each house has a special touch, decorated with recycled wood furniture and cheerful colors. “I did not want the hotel to have any signs, I wanted the houses to integrate with the houses from the village”, the designer tells Poder, revealing that he dedicated 3 years of his life to this project before opening its doors. The advantage of it all? Total privacy that the gardens provide to the guest. In the first year the quotes are promotional, daily rates from R$950 for the smallest house until R$1.350 for a 2 bedroom house. For further information: www.uxua.com
