Thousands of kilometers of unspoiled sandy beaches, tropical islands, beautiful houses from the colonial times, rain forests and a dynamic Afro-American culture - the tropical northeast state of Bahia in Brazil has, like Goa, attracted a faithful group of devotees equally divided Neo-bohemians and international jetsetters, with a love for low key luxury.
Here already for many years is the widely famous Diesel creative director Wilbert Das, who has created a complete resort in Trancoso, a quiet fishermans’ village, which can become a bit less quiet with the presence of celebrities like Naomi Cambell, Gisele Bundchen, and Leonardo Di Caprio, who regulary choose to do their holidays in the area. Wilbert Das has created here a hotel project: UXUA Casa Hotel, of recycled materials from the Bahia region, and has mixed it with his own modernism and some Indian inspiration. The hotel is decorated with antiques, local art, craftsmanship and handmade unique furniture.
