Acclaimed Brazilian director Cisma shot the short film during the 2011 edition of the party during which UXUA creator Wilbert Das was honored as festeiro (honorary host) of the event.
Wilbert and his co-festeiros Cabocla Barreto and Cássia Bandera had the traditional responsibilities of organizing food, entertainment, decoration and children’s games typical of the historic celebrations.
The film presents both a backstage view of the preparations and a colorful peak at the 24-hours of revelling which end with a dramatic procession through the Quadrado and the mounting of the newly-painted wooden pole dedicated to Sáo Brás in front of Trancoso’s simple, 16th century Catholic church overlooking the sea.
